A One day Seminar on "Impact of Scientific Technologies; Bioinformatics, Databases, Software and Artificial Intelligence” was organised by School of Basic and Applied Sciences, School of Engineering and Technology & School of Agriculture in which eminent speakers from academics and industry shared their thoughts with the students.
The event unfolded into two major sessions; in the first half Dr. Sushmita Paul Professor, IIT, Jodhpur discussed various computational tools used for the analysis of biological data, micro-array, algorithms, gene expression, Bio markers and micro RNA and messenger RNA. She further explained that the advent of computer and information technology has been making such conspicuously remarkable changes in every aspect of life that cannot be over accentuated.
In the second session, Dr. K. V. R. Rao, University of Rajasthan, motivated the students to be involved in the development and research of nanotechnology. Dr. Rao explained the benefits of nanotechnology and explained in detail about the hazardous effects of nanotechnology. He said that a number of field are being affected by the advent of nanotechnology include medicine, clothing, paints, army, cosmetics and many more. One of the students of B.Sc. V Mr. Rahul Katariya delivered lecture on comets and beautifully explained the movement of comets around the sun.
Students were very enthusiastic during the entire Seminar. They understood the conceptual model of Nanotechnology and Bioinformatics at a broader perspective.
