Two days Faculty Development Program was organized at the RNB Global University on “SPSS”. The FDP commenced with the inaugural session by garlanding the Goddess Saraswati followed with the lightening of lamp. The session commenced with the welcome speech of Prof. Mahendra Ghadoliya, Registrar, RNB Global University. He threw light upon the need for SPSS and discussed about the importance of Research in today’s scenario. Dr. Rahul Chandra, Joint director, ICSI was the keynote speaker of the function.
On Day One, Dr. Chandra discussed the conceptual framework of Probability, Sampling Distribution, Significance level, Estimation, Statistical inferences, and cautioned the participants of the possible errors involved while collecting and validating the data simultaneously dealing with the other hurdles of doctoral research. Participants actively took part in the discussion conducted by the speaker and expressed their views.
Day Two of the FDP was planned to provide practical hands on training of SPSS to the participants. The speaker introduced about the basic concepts used to handle SPSS software and briefed upon its utility along with a comparison with Ms Excel’s Data. The main Objective of the session was to help a research scholar in doing his research work with SPSS. The speaker provided training from the basic entry of data in software to calculation of descriptive statistics, cross tabulation, checking normality, regression, correlation and to perform ANOVA in SPSS. He stated that this field is fast evolving with new techniques, mixed methods and applications merging both from academia and practitioners. In their endeavour to do so, practitioners have resorted to using statistical techniques for data analysis to arrive some decisions.
The FDP concluded with the feedback of the participants who lauded the efforts put in by the institute in organizing such a useful, beneficial and informative Program for the Researchers.
